I have a feeling Election Day and the transition of power will go much smoother than most of us expect. My intuition is decent. In 2016 I woke up in a cold sweat 30 DAYS before the election when I realized Hillary was going to lose.
I watched the polls obsessively day and night trying to convince myself that I was completely wrong. I was so distraught that Hillary was going to lose that I even traveled out-of-state, close to Election Day, to be with my family so that we could consol each other.
On election night, as soon as the results trickled in from Pennsylvania, I knew it was over and we turned the TV and watched a really good movie about, ironically enough, a Russian spy trying to get asylum for his family!
Life is stranger than fiction.
I also predicted back in 2016 that the next President was probably going to pick up to three Supreme Court justices. I wish to God I was wrong on that hunch.
But this time my instincts are telling me things are going to be very different. That gives me some peace and comfort.
But I could also be wrong. That's the point of this blog post. So be prepared emotionally, intellectually and situationally FOR ANYTHING!
If you follow a spiritual practice or believe in the power of prayer now is a good time to engage your beliefs.
After this is all over, I hope support groups are formed around the country so we can debrief in a more beneficial way from the last four years. King Trump and his fellow traitors have traumatized many of us in ways, big and small.
If the worst happens remember to think rationally and do your best to plan ahead. Easier said than done since many of us will be in denial and slow to act.
There's strength in numbers. The American people are just plain exhausted of King Trump saying 2 + 2 = anything but 4. People will vote King Trump out just to end his never-ending chaos and deceit!
Chin-up and hold your head high! Most of us on DK have helped Biden and the rest of the Democratic ticket in ways big and small. I give all of you a big safely-distanced hug for all your sacrifices and hard work! You're the greatest!
